As I worked on my part of this Newsletter I wanted to convey my thoughts without rambling. I receive numerous newsletters each week and some catch my eye and I will read it, some are promotional ("I have a deal for you...") newsletters that I just delete and some are a mix between the two. I instructed my Staff to create a newsletter that is informative and beneficial to the reader, so I hope that you like it. As you can see, there is a lot of information that we want to provide to you; without boring you. I want to address issues that I have heard from our Clients; I enjoy comments and suggestions from each one, THANK YOU! Probably the most frequent issue that I heard recently is the lack of information or communication. I agree, I do not like being caught in the dark and I do not expect to do the same to our Clients. We recently went through a major upgrade with our entire network; information was added to our Network Issues Page in the Client Portal but many of you did not receive any notice of this. I take full responsibility to this lack of communication and have already developed and implemented a system that will help us elevate this issue. Please continue to read below for details. We have upgraded the Client Portal; the goal is to add information that will be beneficial for the user. I know it is confusing sometimes where you need to go to perform specific tasks. The simplest thing to remember is, the Client Portal is where you manage your Account; hosting, domains, servers, etc. Your Control Panel (cPanel) is where you manage your Hosting Account. As we become proactive with these newsletters; if you have a topic that you would like to discuss, please drop me an email and we will work on an article. We recommend that all of our Clients join Facebook and become a Fan of UCwebhost.com. Our FACEBOOK account is linked with our Twitter Account; as we make posts on our FACEBOOK Page, it will populate our Twitter Account. FACEBOOK is now used to provide time-sensitive announcements to all of our fans. Network Information, Phase 2 StatusWe have spent months developing and creating a network that will improve your visitors experience, continue PCI Compliance and maintain our SAS-70 Certification. With an investment of several hundred of thousands in our entire network we have completed our second and final phase. With the completion of Phase 2, we are now able to provide PCI Compliant Cloud Hosting, redundant backup service for our Clients and utilize our Data Center's SAS-70 Certification. By partnering with Parallel's, Virtualiztion has been implemented, allowing us to manage our server network easier, faster and safer. We can manage upgrades and migrations without significantly affect other shared accounts. Our System Administrators can isolate issues faster and more effectively without as much intrusion to others. In an effort to better communicate with our Clients; our Management Team implemented a method of announcement. All Issues relating to the servers, networks or Client Areas (including the Client Portal) will be posted in the Network Issues Area. We will also post an announcement in our FACEBOOK Account and Twitter Account. FACEBOOK and Twitter are now linked so we will make the post in FACEBOOK and allow it to populate it at Twitter. We will not post specific information in the Public Area as it may contain information that the general public does not need to know; for details about network issues, you will need to log into the Client Portal and select the Network Issues Link. All emergency notices (i.e. outages, etc.) will be announced at FACEBOOK with a brief statement and the link to the Network Issues area for additional information and details. All scheduled events will also be posted in the Network Issues Area but we will send an email out to the affected parties; for example, if you have an account on BOX102 and we are doing a hard drive upgrade; you will receive an email about the notice and a link to the Network Issues area which will contain additional information. If you are not on BOX102, you will not receive an email notice. Network IssuesWe have had a number of requests for a subscription-based system that will notify them of Network Issues, changes, etc. At this time we have not been able to find something that would not increase the work load on the Team and could be integrated into the Client Portal. The Network Issues area is a password protected area and we could not get the RSS Feed to work. So we chose another method of urgent notices; Facebook allows for us to provide notices and we can do this from our pc's, blackberry and the internet. We have adopted FACEBOOK as our means of notifying our Clients of a network issue. This is accomplished by a brief notice posted in FACEBOOK including a link to the Network Issues Area.
